Rockstar didn't drop a new trailer. What it did was fly a roomful of creators to Rockstar North, and the resulting previews just spilled a pile of GTA6 systems we'd only guessed at. The three that matter most: a Criminal Profile system that tracks what kind of criminal you are, an optional romance between Jason and Lucia, and a hard 4-weapon inventory that ends the GTA habit of carrying an arsenal in your pockets.

Everything below comes from those creator reports and press coverage. None of it is a formal Rockstar announcement, so treat the specifics as "reported" until the game ships.

The Criminal Profile system

This is the headline. Instead of an honor meter, GTA6 tracks what kind of criminal you are:

  • Professional, Aggressive, Violent, Psycho — four states, and your behavior moves you between them.
  • A fifth, unnamed state: if you go far enough off the rails, the icon shatters and locks permanently. The game stops grading you.
  • Jason and Lucia each have their own profile, so you can play the two leads completely differently.
  • Unlike RDR2's Honor, it's not a good/evil scale — it's a "what's your style" scale. Self-defense doesn't count against you, for example.

The romance is optional (and that's the point)

The big fan question — do Jason and Lucia get together — has an answer: only if you want them to.

  • Romance them, keep them as platonic crime partners, or ignore the whole thing. The duo keeps working together regardless.
  • No scripted "date missions." You build outings yourself — zoo, kayaking, a walk on the beach.
  • It's a state, not a numeric bar, and it can touch the story.

One corner of this is still rumor: whether it goes as far as an explicit relationship. Rockstar hasn't confirmed that part.

The weapon system got harder

  • You carry four weapons: two long guns, one handgun, one melee. That's it.
  • Everything else lives in a vehicle trunk or a hideout, so loadouts actually matter now.
  • Auto-aim is reportedly gone — you aim for real.

And a bunch of smaller stuff

  • Robberies are everywhere: nearly every store is rob-able — convenience stores, jewelry shops, banks — and you sell the haul to fences.
  • Sprint is changing: Rockstar is reportedly killing "tap X to sprint"; you click the left stick instead. Some fans are already annoyed.
  • Cops got sharper: new wanted stars and evidence icons tracking your weapon, identity, clothes, the couple, and CCTV.
  • Scale: Vice City is reportedly around twice the size of Los Santos, with a lot more map outside the city.
  • Length: one report put the main story at around 80 hours without touching side content.

What I'd actually bet on

The Criminal Profile and the 4-gun limit are the two that change how GTA6 feels. If both land, it's a tighter, more deliberate game than GTA5 — less "pocket arsenal," more "what kind of crook are you."

Which of these changes are you most nervous about — the 4-gun limit or losing auto-aim? Tell me below.
