Tomorrow is the biggest GTA6 news day since the September preview: Game Informer drops digital issue #382 on September 29 with a 14-page GTA6 cover story, 12 new screenshots and exclusive developer interviews. Print copies follow later. If you want something more than the usual rumor mill, this is it.

What's in the cover story

  • A 14-page cover feature on GTA6, built on interviews Rockstar gave Game Informer directly.
  • 12 new screenshots — the largest single image drop since the August extended look.
  • Digital issue goes live September 29; print follows.

Rockstar is now saying "on time" out loud

Rockstar North co-studio lead Rob Nelson told Japanese magazine Famitsu that GTA6 "will be released on time." It's the closest thing to a hard reassurance we've had, and it lines up with Take-Two repeating the November 19 date in earnings calls.

The math backs it up: September 30 marks 50 days out. We're now closer to launch than we are to the August extended look.

The store pages quietly updated

Two store-side changes worth knowing:

  • Preorders now carry a hard cutoff of November 19, 23:59:59 local time, per the updated store listings.
  • Retail press reports say Xbox is worried that GTA6 preorders are heavily concentrated on PS5. That part is unconfirmed, but it's the kind of platform split worth watching before you commit to a box.

And a $400 "Collector's Box" — merch, not a game edition

Reports now describe a $400 Collector's Box that ships merchandise but no game code. Note the distinction: this is not a Collector's Edition. Our editions guide still holds that nothing beyond Standard and Ultimate has been announced. The box is physical merch only — the kind of thing that sells out on its own.

What I'd actually watch for

The cover story is the thing to set a reminder for. Twelve screenshots and a 14-page feature are exactly what Rockstar does when it's confident — and a lead saying "on time" out loud is a stronger signal than a dozen anonymous rumor posts.

Will you read the Game Informer story tomorrow, or wait for the screenshots to get reposted everywhere?
