GTA6: what's actually confirmed, and what's still just a leak (Sept 2026)

GTA6 is out November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, for $79.99 (Ultimate $99.99), and pre-orders have been open since June 25. That part is locked in. A lot of what you read about the game online is not.
Here's the clean split, so you can stop guessing which "confirmed" detail is actually real.
What's officially confirmed
| Item | Detail |

| PC | Not announced — don't plan on it this year |
| Price | Standard $79.99 · Ultimate $99.99 |
| Pre-orders | Open since 2026-06-25 |
| Pre-load | 2026-11-12 (digital) |
| Physical | Download code in a box, no disc |
The leads are Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, a Bonnie-and-Clyde-style couple you can switch between mid-mission. The confirmed supporting cast is Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest, Raul Bautista, Real Dimez, and Brian Heder.
The game is set in Leonida, Rockstar's Florida, anchored by a modern Vice City. Confirmed named locations: Leonida Keys, Port Gellhorn, Grassrivers, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga National Park.
Two more things Rockstar has said plainly: development used no generative AI, and the single-player story has no microtransactions. On the soundtrack side, the official trailers and the August demo have already confirmed a run of songs — Tom Petty's "Love Is a Long Road" in trailer one, and in the demo, Kodak Black, Def Leppard, Phil Collins, Depeche Mode and Lil Wayne among others.
What's floating around (leak-sourced, NOT confirmed)
These all trace back to the 2022 leak or unnamed sources, and Rockstar has never confirmed them:
- Six-star wanted levels and reworked police AI (witness reports, suspect profiling).
- Fuel system and car-theft tiers.
- Diet and exercise changing your character's weight and muscle.
- Slow-motion aiming that highlights weak points.
- ~80 hours of playtime.
- A map roughly 2× GTA V with 700+ enterable interiors.
None of that is fake-for-sure, and some of it probably lands. But it's rumor until Rockstar or a trailer shows it.
What I'd actually bet on
Release date, price, and the dual protagonists are safe. The rest (wanted system, fuel, map size) I'd treat as "interesting if true, zero reason to plan around it."
What detail are you most hoping turns out to be real? Tell me — a fuel system would kill me, I'd be gassing up every five minutes.
