GTA6 pre-launch checklist: platform, pre-load, edition and day-one plan

GTA6's official launch (2026-11-19) is getting close. This checklist helps you sort out everything before launch.
1. Choose your platform
- Launch is PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only; the PC version is unannounced.
- If you only have a PC, you'll need to wait for an official announcement (rumors point to 2027, unconfirmed).
2. Choose your edition

3. Pre-order & pre-load

4. Storage & network
- No specific storage size has been announced; leave plenty of free SSD space.
- You'll need an internet connection on day one to download/activate — check your network and storage ahead of time.
5. Day-one plan
- On launch day (11-19), dive into the single-player campaign first.
- The online mode (GTA Online 2) will not be available at launch — don't wait for it.
