GTA6's weapon system got harder: 4 guns, trunk storage, and no auto-aim

GTA5 let you pull a rocket launcher out of thin air mid-chase. GTA6 reportedly doesn't. That single change — a real inventory — ripples through everything else.
These are reported details from the September previews, not official Rockstar announcements.
The 4-gun limit
You can carry four weapons: two long guns, one handgun, one melee. That's your loadout.
Everything else has to live somewhere — your vehicle trunk or a hideout. So before a heist, you actually think about what you're bringing, the way you'd pack for a trip.
Auto-aim is reportedly gone
The assist that's carried console players for two decades is, by multiple reports, removed. You aim manually, the way you do in a PC shooter.
This is the one that'll split the room hardest. Some players are already complaining; a lot of others think it's overdue.
The robbery loop
With a real inventory comes a real economy:
- Almost every store is rob-able — convenience stores, jewelry shops, banks.
- You carry the haul to a fence and sell it.
- Better gear means better scores, which loops back into your loadout.
It's a tighter loop than GTA5's "rob a store for pocket change." The whole thing is built to make you care about what you carry and what you risk.
What it means
If all of this ships as reported, GTA6 plays slower and more deliberately than GTA5. You plan the job, pack the right four guns, drive a getaway car whose trunk actually matters.
