Rockstar has been cagey about the exact map size, but the September previews put a number on it: Vice City is reportedly around twice the size of Los Santos — and that's before you count the rest of Leonida.

This is a reported estimate, not an official figure.

What "2x Los Santos" means

Los Santos was GTA5's city. GTA6's single city being 2x that is a big jump — denser streets, more neighborhoods, more verticality.

And there's a whole state around it

Vice City is only the core. Leonida also has the Keys, the wetlands, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga — the map isn't just a bigger city, it's a state with multiple distinct regions.

How it compares

GTA5 was already huge. If the 2x figure is real and the surrounding regions are as big as described, GTA6 is comfortably Rockstar's largest world — and it's built entirely for current-gen hardware.

What it means for you

Bigger doesn't always mean better, but here it likely means more travel variety: urban Vice City, swamp airboats, coastal highways, and a national park all in one map.

Does a 2x Vice City excite you, or do you worry Rockstar is biting off more than it can fill?
