GTA6 FAQ: the questions everyone keeps asking, answered plainly

The two questions that matter most, up front: GTA6 releases November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and there is no PC date yet. Everything else people keep asking is below.

Release & platforms

When is it out? 2026-11-19, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only.

What about PC? No date. Rumors point to February 2027, but that's one leaker's claim — unconfirmed. Assume it's not this year.

Buying

Standard or Ultimate? Standard is $79.99; Ultimate is $99.99 and adds exclusive vehicles, weapons, outfits, extra story content, and exclusive stores/missions.

Should I pre-order now? Only if you're buying it anyway. There's no early access, and the pre-order bonus (Vintage Vice City Pack) runs until 2026-11-20. No rush.

Can I pre-load? Yes, digital pre-load opens 2026-11-12.

Physical edition — is there a disc? No. It's a download code in a box.

Game content

Does single-player have microtransactions? No. Rockstar confirmed it.

Is the online mode (GTA Online 2) there at launch? No — launch is single-player. Online timing hasn't been announced.

Did they use generative AI? No. Rockstar said all content is human-made; traditional AI only drives NPCs, traffic, and police.

How much storage? Not announced yet. Leave a healthy chunk of SSD free.

What's GTA+? Rockstar's subscription. Digital pre-orders include one free month (usable in GTA5 today). GTA6-specific perks aren't announced yet.
