GTA6 buying guide: Standard vs Ultimate, and whether to pre-order now

Short version: if you just want to play the story, buy Standard ($79.99). If you'll replay it, chase collectibles, or like having extra cars and outfits on day one, the Ultimate ($99.99) is worth the $20. Pre-ordering gets you the Vintage Vice City Pack either way, and there's no early access, so there's no rush.

Standard vs Ultimate

The $20 gap buys cosmetics, exclusive vehicles, and a bit of extra story. If you're the type who plays GTA for hundreds of hours, that's cheap. If you finish the story once and move on, you'll never notice the difference.

Should you pre-order now?

• If you're buying anyway, sure — the bonus is free and it's the same price.
• If you're on the fence, wait. There's no early access, and the bonus runs until 2026-11-20, the day after launch. Buying early buys you nothing.

One real perk worth knowing: digital pre-orders include one free month of GTA+, Rockstar's subscription. That's usable in GTA5 now, not just GTA6.
